Carter had made some mistakes in recent years but he's an old man who isn't really relevant. When he was in office he had the chance to just start printing money in an effort ease the financial pain people were experiencing - he didn't do that. He essentially committed political suicide for the good of the country. Few people then realized the sacrifice he made.

Ford did the same thing in a different way. When he gave Nixon a pardon it was for the good of the country. It was time to let that chapter close and move forward. Again, few people realized the sacrifice he had just made to do the right thing. It too cost him his job.

History will be much better to both these men than what they experience while in office.

Have him make copies of those pictures first. You need to keep this legecy in your family to show to future generations.
