>>>to stay in power the spd went along with the kooky greens to get rid of their nukes.<<<

For sure.

I NEVER cease to be amazed by the level of ignorance out there about energy, and associatedly the herd mentalities which develop. As investors, we are bound to understand the direction of the herd movement. We do better if we understand why the herd is moving in a particular direction so we are better able to anticipate when and in which direction it will move next. This may be impossible if you buy into the analogy between markets and a flock of small birds (sparrows?) which swarm together and en masses turn on a dime in a totally unobvious direction. It helps to write options to dampen that phenomena out.

At the end of the day, we will all be building nukes to beat the band. Timing in investing is very importatn. I am hamstrung by being an engineer. I bow to logic. I know deep in my bones that the US should have been building new nukes ten years ago. When will the insanity stop here??? I don't know. I suspect that what will cause it will be rolling blackouts for a few consecutive summers. America tends to be fat dumb and happy until pushed - consider Pearl Harbor.

I do know that the continued insanity is good for my gassy holdings.
