Dale > Spend some time studying the evolution of academic thought on African development since the 1960's and the almost complete lack of results on the ground. Then come back and preach the virtues of abstract ideas.

Maybe the problem lies with the Africans themselves, and not with the developmental theories or their application? But of course, it's taboo to even think that.
