John, I like your FORD pick so much that I bought some today.

I didn't discover it myself because the price of 4.26 is above the range I screen for, but it otherwise fits what I look for perfectly: low RS including a decline in December, retail ownership, low mkt cap, and a strong enough balance sheet that they'll last a year for sure.

FORD sells carrying cases for cell phones, and it's down because sales volume and margins have declined due to competition, but it's still profitable which is unlike the cheaper stocks I've been picking.

Two of your other picks are stocks I've been short for a while: NTMD and HSOA. I think they're also good picks for January effect. Since I'm already short them, with a paper profit, I have bought offsetting long positions today to box the short and sit ought the January effect flat on those names.
