I remember telling a young man a few years back basically the same thing. I still to this day make mistakes and I will continue to do so until I die. I just hope that I'm mature enough to learn from them and make fewer of them. One thing I do with my kids is to admit my mistakes to them. I don't have a problem telling them, sorry, my mistake I screwed up. My life didn't end, the world is still spinning. Admit them, learn from them and move on. The worst thing you can do is try and hide from a mistake or cover it up. I'll still love them, I'll do what I can to help them. I might not be happy but so what, it'll pass.
