That's fine if Ford didn't agree with Bush, everyone's entitled to his opinion...

Ford broke Reagan's record as the longest living President by a few weeks....

I always thought he got beat by Carter because of the Nixon pardon...

The KEY sentence, of course is this: "I don't think, if I had been president, on the basis of the facts as I saw them publicly," Ford said,...

IF Woodward or any other MSM writing on the interview had noted this sentence by comment, it would have been much better and totally more honest. Ford was being honest in his assessment.

He had not been privy to the total facts of the situation, any more than the MSM has been, no matter what the MSM wants to think and have us believe.

Also, Ford was not totally correct in his WMD statement. When one reviews GWB's comments as to why we went to war in the first place (see thewhitehouse.gov and the Presidents statements to the US citizens)...there were MANY reasons. WMD was just one of them...and if people are honest, most everyone on all sides of the political spectrum thought Saddam had WMD.

There are many such quotes here on SI.
