Kerry and Gore are the most qualified and electable dems for 2008. No candidate in either party is perfect, but assuming McCain is the GOP nominee, Kerry and Gore are the two who can best beat him. I would throw in Biden too if he can pick up any steam. Kerry will probably declare within 3 months. He has a ton of money so he's not in a big hurry.

Kerry and Gore are both proven right on all the major issues, both presidential and highly-qualified, both correct on the issues people care about, and both deserve it since Bush-Rove cheating and lying campaigns denied them their rightful posts as president. If those two had to go against each other all bets aree off. Who knows? Kerry has something Gore doesn't, a manly gravitas honed in combat. But Gore is very popular now, more so than Kerry.

Some people are afraid that Kerry will be smeared again, but that's not going to happen. All of the smears Bush used in 2004 before the public got to know John better are discredited and disproven and cannot be used again. The MSM won't touch them and liars like Hannity and Limbaugh are also discredited and for far rightwing types only. Right now, Hillary and Obama appear to be ahead, but in the end they and Edwards are not very credible as commander in chief. Kerry, Gore and Biden all are, as if McCain who will very likely win the GOP nom.

No one has helped terrorism more than Bush-Cheney. That is now a proven fact if you look at the various trouble spots which are all worse now than they were several years ago, a period in which Bush-Cheney have had almost total power to do whatever they wanted to.

Meanwhile, the ideas Kerry put forth on counter-terrorism have all been proven to have been the right course. Osama Bin Laden would be dead now. Iraq would not be a quagmire for US forces. Iran would be marginized. Israel-Palestine would be closer to peace, Afghanistan would have been thoroughly cleaned out, and Hezbollah would not be threatening Lebanon. Plus, loose nukes and WMD would be much more cracked down on under Kerry.

Therefore, you should admit you were dead wrong and remove the dishonest heading of this thread. Also the Swiftvets for "Truth" turned out to be complete liars. I defy you to produce a single significant claim of theirs against Kerry which was anything but total fiction. They have also been exposed as a Rove-delay funded dirty trick, not a true vets org. And their two leaders are both longtime rightwing dirty tricksters who made a lot of dirty money lying about Kerry to fool good Americans.

Finally, the new Military Times poll shows only 42% of active duty military support Bush's Iraq policies, so you can forget about him being the darling of the military. And it's even worse amongst the miliutary leadership which is more educated about the real issues. Remember, many soldiers follow orders blindly. They are not supposed to queastion and many never do. Which is the way we want them, to a degree.
