I choose to remember President Ford as an honorable man. The other characters in politics that have come and gone since will each have to reconcile with their history. President Ford was an excellent man for the times. He vetoed a lot of bad legislation. He took the long drawn out dissection of Nixon's follies off the table. He probably would have been reelected if he had chosen Reagan as his Veep.
