Report: Saban leaves Dolphins in dust, going to 'Bama
Jan. 3, 2007
CBS SportsLine.com staff and wire reports

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday that Dolphins coach Saban has agreed to become the new coach at the University of Alabama, ending his two-year tenure at Miami.

The Sentinel reported that Saban failed to show for a morning scheduling meeting at team headquarters with Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga. Saban told Huizenga of his intentions via telephone and then informed all of his coaches by speakerphone that he was leaving to accept the Alabama position, the source said.
