Wasn't he also a progressive? Wonder how present day liberals who run from that label and call themselves progressive feel about that.

They love it. Since Socialist/Communist are no longer salable names, they have all adopted "Progressive" in the hopes that the thought of TR and others will be acceptable.

The "Progressive" era was the opening of Socialism in this country. It was tied in with Populism. They both hated "big business."
