Again, Peter, you jumped in apparently without bothering to read the discussion that was underway. My post (about which GZ asked 'where'd that info come from') was concerned with Pakistan announcing that they would not support financial sanctions on Iran. I pointed out that they were being consistent in this policy, as financial sanctions would threaten to derail the pipeline deal they had recently approved (and which the US has been trying to prevent for some years now... despite the obvious potential benefits to India and Pak... the end points on the proposed pipeline and the customers for Iran's gas). It was a specific inquiry from GZ, not a broad-brush RHETORICAL-TYPE UNSERIOUS QUESTION. Or, at least, I assumed that GZ was sincere in his question, and so gave a sincere (& hopefully helpful) answer. (Perhaps though Peter, you assume that everything is played for laughs, partisan pratfalls and such... because that is how you generally play things?????????) --------------------------- Anyway... aside from whatever axe you seem to be grinding... here is my reply to GZ's question: Message 23140019
