Lindy, my gated community is pretty good. But the stupid "leaders" keep letting in more criminals and those with ideology which results in their descendants being criminals. We even have a big moat. It's 3 hours by Boeing 737 to the next country so the moat keeps out most criminals. Unfortunately, the gated community itself has never been perfect and I have experienced violence always, including being kidnapped, whipped with wire and told the gang would kill me, which I thought they were going to do. It is quite frightening. Sort of like standing at the gallows like Saddam. They let my sister go but said they'd kill me. Plenty of other examples. My friend was being strangled by Henry and I had to whack him with a broom. England was once like Japan, but they did what Enoch Powell said they shouldn't. Japan has NOT made that mistake. Japan is so peaceful and pleasant - wandering around at night feels perfectly safe. Yukari [a young woman we know] walked through a forested park to visit us [in Tokyo] and was perfectly comfortable - I had offered to go and meet her at the station, but she said "This is Japan - it's perfectly safe for me". Our daughter in London does NOT go a step without thinking about security. She likes to go running, but does NOT go unless in daytime in a safe way. Mostly she goes to a gym, where the criminals can't get her. I am not a pacifist. I would like to kill anyone who harms her. Her boyfriend is not a pacifist, he would harm anyone who tries to harm her. He could do a good job of that, even without his nunchaku. Mqurice
