GS...Sorry..can't help you, 2M...I'm one of those old stick-in-the-muds who doesn't believe EW theory can be applied to individual stocks...I play around with EW only on broad diversified indexes.......

But plenty of very good EW types around this thread who would be able to help you out...and maybe one of them will pick up on that...(but maybe not until after the holidays..??)

Howdy, 2M... I think GS is similar to LEH which I discussed in a post nearby - except that GS is much stronger. The impulse since last summer went hard up to great new highs. The choppiness and the momentum divergences of the last several weeks could be a sign that the show may be coming to an end... or, at least to an intermission... -g.

The advance since Oct 2002 looks like a large five-waver... with the extended 5th starting in Aug 2004... with the 5th of that 5th taking off last summer.

Short term, based on the chart of GS, I cannot be very confident that there may not be another move up - something along the lines of MC's "pending 5th of 5th". Probably the timing of trades in the short term should be based on other indicators and setups... but the larger picture is getting iffy for the bulls, imho.
