Did you watch the Capitol service last night?

I thought Dick Cheney's eulogy was moving.

Also, he was very supportive of Betty, stood next to her, and gently helped her walk up to the casket for a goodbye. It brought to mind Nancy Reagan doing the same thing, placing her hand on her Ronnie's casket.

I think that it came out when he was to become President that she had been divorced. In a way, it amuses me to see the press so nice to him now, because they sure weren't years ago. Called him dumb, and all sorts of things. In fact, Mr. Ford was fairly liberal, even to picking Nelson Rockefeller as running mate in 1976...and he definitely was liberal! He was confirmed easily by a HEAVILY Dem margin in both the House and Senate.

I think Gerry Ford did very well and led the US away from a very tough situation...he did it by being his honest self. I wish I could have known him.
