I don't know for sure, but I know he was a receiver...everyone talked about how fast he could run and he said, "You'd run fast too if you had burrs in your feet."

He said he didn't have football shoes and his mother would kill him if he ruined his one pair of shoes, so he played without shoes...in Michigan no less.

I always thought he was telling a tall tale, how could they let any boy play without shoes, but at his funeral, an older man was the minister and also graduated from another high school in GR (MINE) and he said it was during the depression and many were too poor to have football shoes. So I guess he wasn't kidding!

So what position would you say? Remember back then, they played both defense and offense
