They count on a political bail out when company faces an imminent belly up situation. And with a union appeasing dem administration possibly in place at that time, they may well be right. Clever guys, all of that GM management.

Agreed. The best thing our gov't can do for GM is to stay out and don't provide any subsidies. Let GM die or evolve to avoid dying. If GM can't figure out what the public wants when it is so screamingly obvious, then that company doesn't deserve to exist in our market economy. Frankly, I'm all for Toyota. They are a company that gets it.

But even Toyota isn't going far enough. They need to introduce Plug-In, Hybrid, Flex-Fuel vehicles as soon as humanly possible. They would sell like hotcakes.
