That is easy. I am an optimist. No, I don't play one on TV, but I am a genuine optimist.

Americans are optimistic because Bushies are out of power, well almost. So now we can start progressing forward.

We still need Cheney, Rice and Bush out of there, but they are all living on borrowed time.

But of course there's always hope after a nightmare is ending. And Americans are generally a hopeful people. I think they are especially glad Bushies weren't able to cheat again and steal our democracy. That was a huge relief. We might have had a civil war of our own otherwise.

However, the mood for Iraq and the GOP is decidedly bleak, and some major issues are real bummers, like health care costs for instance, which have gone up more than 50% under Bushies.
