KLP, I didn't give my life savings to the USA and tax on the profits therefrom, because I think the worst of the USA. I think the USA does very well overall. Better than the alternatives. Which is not to say that I don't see lots of faults. I don't buy the idea that one has to be some sort of mindless zealot cultist - all in or all out, believer or heretic. That's not how life is.

If my taxes were being used to exterminate Jews or enslave the melanin rich or conduct other ethically unacceptable actions, I'd bail out. I have considered it at times, but overall, have stuck with it. Everywhere is so far from perfect that one cannot be pure anyway, so one can only choose the least bad option.

It's a two way street Karen; yes, I'm profiting from "the goodness of America" and "America" is profiting very nicely from my investment. You surely don't really think the USA has gone all altruistic on me do you? I can assure you there is no "Be Nice to Mqurice" division in the Foreign Affairs department.
