Agreed. It is a disgrace that the richest country in the world is actually killing it's own people in the name of special interests and greed. A huge disgrace. And the republicans who oppose a health care system for every man woman and child are the biggest criminal traitors there is. It rattles my brain every time I hear those hypocrite traitors talk about protecting American lives in the name of terror yet be opposed to a national health care system that will save American lives. Just a huge disgrace the republican party has become... and the infant mortality rate in the US speaks of how big of hypocrites Republicans truly are.

US 'healthcare' is about profit for BigPharma, BigHospitals, BigInsurance. It is heading now towards being 99.99% about money and not care and that money is the massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to the ultra wealthy.

If we're taxing cigs, what about taxing snacks and, especially, sodas and taking that money and subsidizing small farmers growing green veggies for local consumption. What about whacking the AMA upside the head and bringing in as many qualified foreign doctors as are needed for rural hospitals and clinics.

BigPharma spends more in marketing (mostly advertising placement) than they do in R&D then it pleads poverty and uses taxpayer money for basic research AND pleads risk and uses extended patents to make monopoly profits.

The system stinks because the USA has become a money-is-God culture in hyperdrive. The services or products that are provided are only incidental to the profits.
