I'm fine with allowing late entries. But it seems unfair to use the 12/29/06 closing price for latecomers, especially if the contestant starts off with a portfolio gain. So, perhaps the solution is to allow late entries (say until midnight, Sunday, 1/7/06) but to adjust basis closing prices to show zero gain/loss at the starting gate.
(Of course, given the unquestionable ethical conduct of contestants, I don't expect anyone to try to benefit from a price moving news announcement.) <VBG>
