Many years ago I had an opportunity to watch an exhibition golf match that paired Jack Nicklaus with Gerald Ford. They played a couple of the club pros. Nicklaus did a demo for the crowd prior to the golf game, hitting some almost unbelievable shots. During the golf round, President Ford and Nicklaus shot the breeze with all of us as we walked with them. Both were quality gentlemen all day long. The weird part was the big black limousine that trailed along behind and the black suits that walked out ahead of where play was going on. Ford didn't hit anyone that day! ggg

When the crowds gather and stand so close in, it would be hard not to hit someone, wouldn't it? But the press never forgave him that either.
