It'll be a hell of a trial, especially if any other witnesses corroborate the story of the victims. For instance, the extended family [aunts, cousins & so forth] with surnames Brissette, Bartholomew, etc., gave the account roughly as follows: They found themselves being shot at, and took cover behind an abutment. They claim not to even know who was shooting at them. Looking around they could see all members of their party had multiple gunshot wounds [James Brissette was dead], and blood was everywhere. Then, several men appeared, looking over the abutment, and ordered them not to look up. Some members of the party looked up anyway, and saw that some of the men were wearing blue police shirts, although it was a largely out of uniform bunch. Then, allegedly one of the cops stuck the barrel of his rifle into the gut of Jose Holmes Jr., who was lying on the ground, and pulled the trigger twice. Holmes survived, but now wears a colostomy bag. If true, it's not exactly standard police procedure [at least I hope not]. The other party consisted of the two Madison brothers. Ronald Madison, the guy shot in the back, was severely retarded. His brother Lance, now cleared of any charges of firing at police, was a 25 year Fedex employee with zero criminal record. The police camp now says the 7 wounds were from one round of a shotgun [buckshot], so the autopsy will tell the tale there. One eyewitness account has it that Ronald was shot once in the shoulder or upper arm, then turned around and ran down the bridge, with an officer running behind him firing repeatedly, until he was killed. The only thing I know for sure is that we know nothing for sure at this point. But I think this is an extremely important case, and worth paying attention to.
