And then... with a flash and a pervasive foul odor, civil discussion ended when the heavy-breathing carny came to town....

Welcome back, Prolife. Can't say as you were missed, but GZ runs a wide open board here.

It amazes me that you and about five others still believe in the policies of President George W. Bush with all your heart and soul. Of course, the last six years and especially the last six months have shown us that the man hasn't a clue about fiscal responsibility, foreign affairs, diplomacy, or even the basics of managing government. Your idol, Tom Delay, now is limited to running a fourth-class blog while he awaits trial in Texas (darn that renegade Ronnie Earle). Dennis Hastert, your other hero, is still fat and apparently no smarter than he was before November 8. But in your mind anyone who disagrees with Mr. Bush is a "libber". Well, there are a lot of true conservative "libbers" out there right now.

I wanted divided government and I got it. Why does it bother you that I was right in my predictions? I wanted the President and the republicans to start to pay attention to their root principles - the principles I believe in and most common sense people believe in: Fiscal responsibility, leaving government out of private lives, a foreign policy that at least tries to pay attention to the "real world", not the world they think it ought to be.

Hey, the President is now (for the first time!!!) talking about limiting earmarks, listening to other voices AND balancing the budget by 2012 (yeah, right)..but at least he is talking about it. I know you prefer the silly, make-believe world Dick Cheney and his ilk have sold the evangelical community but the rest of us are actually debating real issues. The evangelicals aren't irrelevant yet, but if you keep going as you are, it could happen. But I think you will be happier in the minority, ranting at Pelosi, McCain, Obama, Hillary, Webb...and the other "libbers".

So, welcome back. And say hi to Rev. Haggard next time you see him.

Buddy beat me to the scripture quotes. Darn.
