Nemer, Excellent post....especially from a frenchman...lol Sadly, I feel that with the Demos taking over congress, and the Repubs just rolling over and letting it happen, that the Repubs have lost their last chance probably ever, of controlling congress. The conservatives have such an uphill battle. The media is against them....universities teach nothing but liberal indoctrination...the moral compass of the country as a whole is certainly not pointed the right direction...and the most important of all, our leaders and public seem to be turning away from God (of the bible). A country without God as it's head will fail....and I fear this will come to pass, maybe not in my lifetime...but it's coming. I suppose the prophesies of the book of revelation will be upon us.... That post about Liberals and Conservatives is hilarious but true in some areas. Heck...I like woman that does not want to be dominated...Ooops Liberal. Hey... Actors mean nothing. I don't see why big media companies need to own 300 markets and subject them with one viewpoint. It would put more people to work and give a local talk station instead of some taped 24 hour B.S. stuff. Yes you like FOX and I like CNN and PBS. That actor response had nothing to do with the issue. I could not stand many of the speakers at that function... but I do think there is a problem. I don't like Kerry, but the pro Kerry was no worse than the lies against him. I know 3 purple hearts , a bronze star, and a silver star against a White House that does not know what a war zone looks like and has proved it by Iraq. From 1998 to 2001 there was no growth in MoveOn membership... five years later it grew 10 X and was bringing in twice the money of the NRA because of the Republican leadership in less than a decade from its beginnings. So far, I am happy with the group and the new Congress. At least they are a pure grassroots organization without money from the liberal unions, conservative corporations and totally funded by individuals with a max of $5000 a year... I like that. If they start pushing gay marriage, illegal immigrant to citizen status etc. I will be gone. So far they have been moderate Liberals IMO. The last petition I signed was what MoveOn.org wanted for the first 100 hours of Congress: The full list of the 100 hour agenda proposals: Good Government: Cutting off lobbyist gifts and restoring fairness and transparency in the way laws are passed Fiscal Responsibility: No more recklessly driving up the national debt. National Security:implement all of the 9/11 commission security recommendations Fighting Poverty: Increase minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, helping 15 million working families Health Research: Increased funding and availability for stem cell research Cut interest on federal student loans in half Clean Energy: Cut oil company subsidies and invest in safe alternatives ----------------- The above is so radical, just call us Communist. Keep your witty post comming... Conservatives and Liberals was great.
