On the other hand, I also think we are also on the verge of massive military nuclear proliferation which will also use a lot of uranium, and make us rich.

However, it may well cause the end of the world, so we will need to spend it fast-lol.

I think you give the environmental lobby too much credit for the government antinuke stance in the past. I think if big business,...particularly big oil and gas weren't against nuclear the environmentalists would have been turfed out of capitol hill on their petards.

It's always all about the money.

Now that the price of gas at the pump has jumped the $1+ ceiling permanently across the nation, the oil and gas lobby is toast. Uranium here we come,...or U3O8 r us.

Thanks, Koan, good to have you on board. I agree with almost everything that you said, particularly in regard to global warming and the shift in perception of nuclear by some of the leading members of the green persuasion. One point I might debate is where you stated there is not much uranium. I think though, that you are referring to readily available uranium and on that I would agree. While uranium is not really rare, locating deposits that are economic to develop at current prices is challenging, to say the least. We've seen how difficult it can be by the ratio of drilling to discoveries in 2006, for example. Whether we go to the moon or not, I don't know. I'd probably settle for high Earth orbit!
