Obama is black, from a Muslim background and very liberal. He might make a fine VP so long as the main candidate is a strong white centrist with commander in chief credentials, but otherwise the GOP will chew Obama up and spit him out faster than you can say Harold Ford or Michael Dukakis. Forget the opinion writers hyping Obamarama. Obama himself is smart. So smart he probably will try to ignore all the hype and not run. Like Colin Powell did in 1999. Just watch.
