a) Without Iraq, the GOP would still be in control of Congress right now.

b) When it comes to Congressional spending, including all of the pork, Bush is just a rubber-stamper. The GOP is blamed for all the pork, but 40% of pork-barrel spending went to the Dems. These are the same Dems who rally against it, which reminds me of the fox guarding the henhouse.

The good news is that with Congress and the White House facing off against each other, there may be less of a chance for pork projects to be passed.
