I think it was Jerry Rubin, and as an I am an old hippie and he was my contemporary, the Chicago 7 were mostly nutso's as was the SDS.

As I have posted before, the 60's "counter culture movement" was in fact the worlds first massive existential movement. Few people have ever understood this.

i.e. up until the 60's evry country and culture on earth operated according to some religous/social dogma. The kids in the 60's realized this was nuts and people should be totallly free to manifest their own destiny.

that was it!

That was also the reason it began on the west coast (less tradition than the east coast) and was centered at Berkely arguably among the finest universities on earth.

The counter culture movement always had lots of nut cases, but the core of the movement, in my oppinion was the best and the brightest of the times!
