We should all stand up and defend our democracy, speaking the truth, as persistently an as often as possible. I do not agree people should ne polite and withhold their opinions, unless they don't have one. Especially in vital times with much at stake.

I was never politically active until I sensed what Bush-Cheney were trying to pull in 2000 for Big Oil and others, and I turned out to be 100% right. In fact it was a lot worse than I feared. So ever since, I have been fighting for my country and our democracy.

The reason I support Kerry and Gore is that I have actually met them both and talked to them, the first times 15-30 years ago. So I feel like I know them and can trust them. There is no such thing as a perfect candidate but both men would be tremendous presidents who most of the country would support.

The smears and disinformation against Kerry by those who fear him is disgusting. It is something which should never be allowed in the USA. It is like something you'd expect in Nazi Germany against the Jews. It's just outrageous, especially considering the fact it all totally untrue. Gore is not criticized much these days, so I don't have to defend him that much.

In knowing Gore and Kerry both and looking into each of their eyes to see their soul, I can tell you this. Both are great and honest men, but Gore does not yet have the fire in his heart to run for president again. But Kerry does and deserves a second chance. I have admiration but misgivings about Hillary. Pelosi's triumph today aside I don't tink we need to push our luck by running a woman, nor an inexperienced black. I want Obama to gain gravitas from experience before I will support him. Gravitas means you have seen it all, including death, and you understand what the world is really like out there. Especially now it's extremely important. Kerry has not only the gravitas his various combats in life but tremendous courage. He is not afraid of anyone, except Gore. gg
