Thanks... but that chart shows "6 months through March 2006", and it also is entitled "changes in holdings of US national debt" which is very much different from saying *proportions sold during most recent auctions*....

Believe I said in my post 'recent months' (or at least, If I didn't, I should have).

But, the chart you posted reflects CHANGES in holding, so of course it would be affected by the massive HISTORIC, i.e., pre-existing 'banked' holdings.

Point I was trying to get at in my post was about the *most recent auctions*... i.e., what's happening at the margins NOW.
