Which could be pretty interesting. "and was done for purely "research" purposes to test core-to-core communication methods." It is a Network On Chip(NOC). It is a fertile area of research, and needed for System On Chip(SOC) designs. Interconnect can consume more than half the power of a SOC design, NOC promises to reduce that considerably and increase performance and reduce the area of the chip required for routing. But, Pete doesn't like it.
