I don't generally look at insider trading activity on large cap stocks. If I worked at a given company for 10 years, and had accumulated $20 million of stock, I might sell $5 million in any given quarter in order to invest elsewhere, buy a home, whatever. I don't know if that indicates I think the shares are going down, for me it would be that I wouldn't want all my eggs in one basket, even if I were a director of that basket. But that's me - lots of people do look at insider activity, but I think the research shows that it (insider sales) isn't indicative of share price performance over the next year or two.
