"the term was used in a perverted way..."

If by "perverted" you intend the sense that he used a metaphor to skillfully expose Baker's self-love, then your characterization is permissible. If, instead, you intend the implication that such exposure of a conceited phoney is a perversion, then you are swinging from the moon by your toes--I am sorry to see and say...

If you believe that Bill was implying that Priapism was NOT a "painful condition", but "a perversion" (as you indicated to Carolyn), then you are inventing an implication that was not present in any way, shape, or form. Neither term excludes the other. His comment DOES NOT IMPLY that priapism is other than painful! In fact one would infer, from the metapor used, that it is EXTREMELY PAINFUL--LOL!!

I would say that there might be an implication that Baker's self absorption and effeminate strutting and high-stepping is a perversion--but that is not what you said, is it??

How can one infer from the following that priapism is not painful and/or that the actual condition is a perversion? It is a senseless inference. What is perverted (if anything) is having a perpetual hard-on for oneself. The latter being inferred from Bill's post does not necessarily mean it was implied..but it is an inference that I indulged in regards to the Baker quote.

Again, there is absolutely not one shred of an indication that Bill is insensitive to the medical condition of priapism or that he considers it a perversion. Now the psychological expression of such a mentality is another matter. There is a certain type of (usually effeminate) male who forever needs to prove he is hard and solid and centered. Some of our greatest tyrants in history fit this profile. He usually "proves" this by petty tyranny, monocracy, and unrestricted censorship. One can infer that waking in the night from the psychological expression of priapism is perhaps more painful than waking in the night from the physical condition.

"Will 2007 be the year Dale Baker gets priapism by simply looking at himself in the mirror?

The symptoms are visible already
