The reality-based community calls it the war in Iraq, where our "invincible" military seems to be losing.

I don't care what YOU or the media call it, there is no ongoing "war" in Iraq. The opponents (the regime of Saddam Hussein) lost, badly, a long time ago. They are all in jail or dead, while our side (the USA) has held two elections, one of which has resulted in a peaceful change of power in Congress, and continues to operate normally.

If the US leaves Iraq today, and all military and diplomatic personnel head to Kuwait and then to wherever their next post is located, the results of the 2nd Iraq war will be the same - the coalition won, and Saddam's regime lost. I don't know why you find that hard to accept.
