45nm 'Penryn'-based parts due late 2007/early 2008
Intel's 45nm desktop dual-core processor will be codenamed 'Wolfdale' and appear in Q4, the latest roadmap slide to leak out of the chip giant has revealed. The part is based on 'Penryn', the 45nm incarnation


I thought it was supposed to be here in mid-'07?

ephud, wouldn´t be that surprising, but considering the performance level they are already delivering today, they wouldn´t need to launch a single new SKU for the rest of 2007.

Of course in reality they will, and performance, clocks, and/or IPC will increase even further, like...tomorrow, Q2, Q3 etc.
