Kids don't adhere to a schedule in all districts. In ours they are allowed (and in fact legally must be allowed) to go to the bathroom when they want to (elementary), and often even in the higher grades.

Just fyi- since I already said this, I'm just going to repost this URL, if you keep asking this, so as to save myself time.

Maybe because the adults are the teachers, and if they raised their hand to ask to go to the bathroom, why, they could just wave it around for an hour and Oh no, there wouldn't be anyone to notice and excuse them, because they're the teacher? - and if the adult (the teacher) just walked out of the class, the children would be left without supervision?
