Of course, private-equity investors like KKR want -- and expect -- good results from their portfolio companies. Their mission: to clean up and turn around the company, making it attractive to a buyer in the public or private market.

So this begs the question.. Are US markets undervalued?

Afterall, why tie up billions of dollars in a private equity deal (of course debt is different) without the possibility of some future public offering for the equity holders to cash in?

Just curious.
