Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Abe Lincoln and Barry Goldwater were all 100% against mixing religion or any church in our government. They all said so, and yet the modern rightwing (which claims to respect these founders) lies and calls our founding fathers "Christians". In fact, guys like Washington, Franklin and Lincoln specifically said they didn't believe in Jesus Christ. This is a huge issue going forward as the rightwing religious lobby is trying to get pork barrel spending of their own worth billions. Bush has been paying them off since 2001, and I doubt much of that money has been spent on actually helping the poor. There should be an accounting. Bushies have also been paying off black nchurches to try and stop them from voting democrat. All this should be illegal.
