Nobody came up with a symbol - besides S&P - so looking at the rise of Ampex on our thread as well as that "A" up front, I just picked that one. As I understand it, Ampex now makes a living on license incomes from their tape recording patents.

The good old Ampex logo still stands next to 101 when you pass their old headquarters in redwood City.

So AMPX is the new symbol? Is that like Ampex Tape company, the leader in 8-Tracks? thats the same one.
