Why is the chimp Nero STILL using debt, YEARS AFTER those events?

Isn't it special how he calls for balancing the budget, NOW, with a DEM congress! LOL!

Actually Bush economic policy post 9/11 was perfect. He had to hold his nose and ignore the spending issue because he couldnt allow things to get bogged down in spending cut debates. But between 2001 and now there was time to get the debt more under control. You are exactly right. Problem with the dems is that they can yell all they want about fiscal responsiblity---what they are really after is tax increases for whoever they consider the wealthy. Compromise can be reached by inching up rates and making them all permanent---eg highest tax rates goes from 35 to 35, cap gains and/or dividends from 15 to 20% while AMT is eliminated, minimum wage rises, estate tax limits raised but tax not eliminated. 75% of americans will buy into such a compromise. Kudlow may not like it, nor will democrat left but there is a compromise that control deficit and debt while not killing the goose.
