According to the NY Times article, the first two questions Hillary was worried about speaking to her campaign staff was whether Gore and Kerry are running or not. And why not? They are the big cheeses of the Dem party, along with her husband.

There are two reason why Hillary should be particularly worried about Kerry. #1, he can beat her mano a mano on the campaign trail anytime, anywhere. He's just much more presidential.

#2, he can take New Hampshire and that's the only one of the first three states she has a chance to win. If Hillary were to finish third or fourth in Iowa and New Hampshire, it would be all over.

Edwards will do okay like last time, but in the end he will not be the nominee, nor president. he just isn't really qualified. Could be the VP candidate again though.
