Thanks Herb. As I told bigpike: I was worried that the way I worded "I got out of Richmond "because I was white" might be misconstrued as "because I was smarter" and I was only talking about racism, and poverty and other things that hold people down, but my paragraph was sloppy and didn't point that out. African American kids had a hell of a time getting work even in California in the 50's because of blatant racism. We have systematically destroyed the African American culture for 400 years and I worry about them; and even the thought that I might do something to make any African American feel bad sends shivers up my spine. I have been swimming upstream my whole life and I think it makes one a bit hysterical after awhile, especially given my verbosity-lol. And even when I know, bush defenders do not have a leg to stand on, it doesn't help much-lol.
