Hi SARMAN; Re: "... however, they can create an environment that allows their economy to grow. for example, if they create political stability in their countries that allows for long term/foreign investments, their economy will strive thus creating new jobs. Again I am not an economist ..."

Leaders can destroy the economy (assuming that the rest of the many many people with power will let them do it), but they can't create a strong economy. What they can do is use military and police force to cause people to do things, but they can't make you and me buy soap, which is what actually keeps the soap business in business. The people who make us buy soap are the soap salesmen, and there are millions of them. Leaders can make countries unstable, which is usually bad for business, but they can't stabilize them. An example of lack of stability being harmful for business is when Clinton was elected and immediately threatened to rebuild (translate: "destroy") the healthcare industry.

There simply is no power on the planet anything like the power of the 6 billion people out there.

Re: "PS. Sometime stating a war can give the economy a boost."

Fortunately, the Iraq war is so small that it's unlikely to have much of an effect on the economy. We could get the same economic benefit of war if we had the government do any other extremely expensive thing. My suggestion is that we explore the rest of the universe instead of spending money on nukes that we're never going to use anyway.
