When Palestinians assert there was genocide in Jenin, I don't just accept their wild-eyed claims. Same with other claims. When WMDs were "40 minutes from launch", I thought it a joke. It was pretty obvious that there weren't swarms of WMDs lined up ready to go. Maybe some got shipped to Syria [which begs the question as to what they were for, if not to use when the chips were down]. It's pretty obvious that Iraq and the area have been in civil war, or internecine war, and general conflict, including bulk killing of opposing males [just as in eons of human conflict] over millennia. Human history is full of genocidal conquests. Saddam was in an existential fight with Kurds and Iranians. The Sunnis still are, if we believe newspapers each day and as seen on TV. I understand the USA civil war involved a lot of dead males too. That seems to be what happens. They go nuts killing each other in droves. Keep the women and children, kill off all the males. Maoris used to break their enemy prisoner legs and keep them as dinner [they didn't have refrigerators]. Slaves were kept too, until it was time for dinner. Plus ca change, Mqurice
