Wharfie, my point is that there's no practical difference that I have observed over 50 years. Which fits with your number of 1mm per year. I couldn't measure 50mm in the Manukau Harbour. That's only 5 cm. It's a still day on the harbour to not get little waves 5cm high.

The point is, it's silly to say "Omigod the tide is rising" when it's only 1mm per year.

Vanuatu is NOT going to disappear any time soon at 1mm per year.
