Florida doesn't grow many eating oranges, just juice oranges.

Publix veggies are usually from California or South America. Go figure. Picked green and gassed for the long journey.

I buy at the little green markets and usually have good tomatoes and other produce.

Navel oranges usually are Californian. Blight has knocked out this years tomato crop from Immokalee, I believe.

"Immokalee, FL is the Tomato capital of the south and the tomatoes here are disgusting so are the oranges."

Maybe it's the GM fruit, grown to look good, but be so bad the insects won't eat it?
