*EPS Contest category changes for NEXT quarter's* contest epscontest.com As most of you remember we held onto the Flash category until we knew of something better to replace it with. As a reminder of some of the discussion from way back, we could also just delete that category, but that would be a CONSIDERABLE amount of work on my end. Simply changing the category will still require some effort, but will be an order of magnitude simpler. So, if we can come up with a good new category, that is the route I'd prefer to take. Another reason to hang onto the same number of categories is so that the leaderboards and hall of fame numbers continue to have meaning when comparing results from different quarters. If we reduce categories the scoring won't be consistent for the history of the contest. But if there is overwhelming support for DELETING a category or two, regardless of the extra work on my end, I will strongly consider that. HOW TO VOTE:** Please vote for any of the following options by visiting the replies to this post and using the 'recomend this post' link at the bottom of the post that has the option you like. Please only vote if you actually participate in the contest, or if by making this change you would join us for the next contest. The options are designed so that you can vote for more than one, but please don't contradict yourself... :) Here is a summary of the options: OPTION 1: Change the flash category for both companies to Gross Margin, expressed in percentage units. OPTION 2: Change the flash category to ATI Revenue for AMD (or whatever they will call it, assuming they disclose that number or something like it) and Chipsets, Motherboards and Other Revenue for Intel. OPTION 3: Just delete the flash category altogether (for both companies) to simplify the contest a bit. OPTION 4: Delete two categories: flash AND delete the AMD CPU Operating Income category and the Intel MPU Revenue category. This would leave us with 3 categories: Total Revenue, EPS, and Stock price. KISS! OPTION 5: Change the AMD CPU Operating Income category back to AMD CPU Revenue in order to better match up with Intel's MPU Revenue category. OPTION 6: Change the Intel MPU Revenue category to an Operating Income category in order to better match up to AMD's CPU Operating Income. OPTION 7: Don't change a thing. All teams are officially established except Team iHub, which needs at least one more entry. CONTEST DEADLINE: The contest deadline is guessed to be next Tuesday, but will only be confirmed or corrected when AMD finally tells the world when they are going to report... They have been known to make a late announcement of an earlier reporting date, so be advised to enter sooner rather than later.
