Scwhartzeneggar just proposed universal health care for all Californian children, including illegals. Mitt Romney did it in Massachusetts too. Those "damn socialist" Republicans, huh? Mean while the Bushie HMO and Pharma lobbyists are freaking out that democrats are going to force them to negotiate lower prices. This was a huge area of corruption for the GOP congress. Frist is one of the main culprits. Also remember when Bush deliberately lied about the cost of his Medicare plan, under-pricing it by 135 billion?

Gives people roots, inspires them to community activity. Is there a government tax incentive towards home ownership? Sure. Are there a lot of tax incentives for corporations? Sure. Intel gets to deduct a lot of shit, why not Joe Six Pack with 3 kids and his 3 bedroom bungalow? Taxes are discriminatory by nature... every tax benefits someone and hurts someone else. Pick your poison.
