I like OSU, but they have been off the field forever. The SEC teams like Florida play about 32 games, so they don't have nearly as much downtime. It's not like they have to attend class or anything. Well, except for Vanderbilt. <G>

Well, I was perfect on that game, give or take 4 touchdowns or so. <G> Ohio State was awful. They didn't seem to have any idea how Florida played football.

O.K., no doubt that Florida is number one. LSU looked great in their bowl game and should be number 2. Ohio State and Michigan should drop like rocks in the final standings. USC has the best team, but they can't beat the so-so teams in their own conference, so I expect them to get no higher than 5th or so. Boise State has to move way up. Wisconsin should move up, but the Big Ten looked so bad that it will count against them. And they only played two good teams, getting whomped by Michigan and barely beating Arkansas.

The SEC was the best conference. Pac 10 was probably second best. The Big Twelve sucked wind. What we need are more intersectional games next year. This year we had Tennessee/California, USC vs. Arkansas and Nebraska, etc. But most conferences stuck to their own area and the non-conference teams were against weak competition. Teams were getting high rankings without beating any good opponents.

We also need some teams in the top twenty, academically, to make bowl games. The only Top Twenty team in bowl game this year was Notre Dame. O.K., Rice made a bowl, too, but that is a very, very minor bowl. The good news is, Cal-Tech won it's first basketball game in 10 years. <G>
