It wasn't a national imperative when Clinton was in office because oil was cheap as hell and we weren't fighting two wars and beefing up security to prevent terrorism, all the while funding the terrorists and dictators with our oil money. Where have you been since 9/11? Head in the sand?

The Iraq War and Bushies doubling gas prices was what convinced most Americans we need to finally get off all Arab oil for good. Plus the global warming crisis of course.

But the Bush-Cheney types will never lift a finger onm this issue. They are all about Middle Eastern oil. They serve the Saudis much more than they serve we American People. They invaded Iraq for the oil deal. It's all about oil and arms deals with them.
